Nic Campos leads litigation at Calderon Law Firm, bringing the same discipline and persistence to the courtroom that he once brought to the baseball diamond as a Division I player at Prairie View A&M University, where he earned his degree in Criminal Justice. He went on to South Texas College of Law Houston, graduating in 2021 and earning a Certificate in Transactional Law Practice before becoming licensed to practice that October.
Nic’s primary focus is personal injury litigation, particularly matters involving serious and catastrophic injuries — motor vehicle, commercial vehicle and 18-wheeler, rideshare, and motorcycle accidents; workplace injury and non-subscriber claims; premises liability and slip-and-fall cases; catastrophic injuries and disfigurement; plant and industrial incidents; wrongful death; and medical malpractice. He has significant experience with cases involving commercial transportation and serious motor vehicle collisions, and has helped secure more than $9 million in settlements for injured clients and their families. Representative results include a $920,000 settlement for a client who required spinal fusion surgery after being rear-ended by a commercial vehicle, a $400,000 settlement for a client who suffered a shoulder injury after being rear-ended at a traffic light, and a $150,000 recovery for a client who sustained a broken nose despite limited available insurance coverage. Nic was recognized by The National Trial Lawyers as a Top 40 Under 40 Civil Plaintiff Attorney.
Nic is extremely hands-on with his clients. He believes his job isn’t to make decisions for them, but to make sure they’re fully informed before making decisions that may permanently affect their legal rights — walking through the process together from beginning to end. Persistence is the principle that best defines how he practices: an unfavorable result doesn’t mean the fight is over, and he believes the difference between an acceptable result and an exceptional one often comes down to refusing to stop when someone tells you no.
A native of Atascocita, Texas by way of San Antonio, Nic is proud to be the first in his family to attend college and remains a loyal San Antonio Spurs fan. Giving back to the Houston community is important to him, including his support of Sky High for Kids and the Houston East End Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Golf Tournament. He is engaged to his fiancée, Rachel, and together they have two cats, Rocket and Benny. Outside the office, Nic enjoys soccer, golf, traveling, cooking at home, and spending time with family and friends.
